I am frustrated. I am tired. I am worn out.

I am doing this thing called motherhood and I feel like I am failing at it. And failing at it miserably.

Do all mothers feel this way from time to time? Or do I need help? Like physically, spiritually? Yeah…do I need help physically? I would take the help if someone offered, but that would only solve my problems temporarily.

I need to figure out how to do this better. How to be the mom my kids deserve. But where do I start? What do I do?

That’s where God steps in. That’s where counting my blessings steps in. No, really. That’s where my sanity is found. It’s literally the ONLY thing that makes me feel better when I am worn down from a day of excessive yelling and disappointment.

Then I can’t help but make the comparison that how I am feeling as a parent MIGHT be a little bit how God feels as a parent to us. Disappointed, angry, frustrated.

However, that’s where grace comes in.

He loves me anyway, and He extends grace when I don’t deserve it. He extends love, patience, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, and self-control. HE is what keeps me grounded.

HE is what makes me think that I am not a failure, because I’m a daughter of the Most High. I am the daughter of the Lord of Peace. I am the daughter of Yahweh-Yireh. My Provider.

Apart from Him I can’t do this life. And you know what—my kids can’t do life without me either, at least not at their ages.

They count on me to tuck them in at night. They count on me to sing and dance with them. They count on me to say prayers with them. They count on me to feed them. They count on me to hug them even if they know they disappointed me. They count on me to be their total provider, their safety, their rock.

Moms, I know its a tough road we are on, raising tiny boss humans. I know some days you just want to go to your pantry and cry. I know some days you feel like driving far far away. But those days when you feel like you’re defeated and you’ll never be good enough…

Remember you have a sweet sweet Father who died for you, so that you will be victorious and ALWAYS worthy of the blood shed on the cross.
