In this week’s Sunday Prayer, Hillary shares with us a beautiful example of praying through military transition.

Praying Through Military Transition

by Hillary Baggett

Lord, the summer moving season is upon us! You, in your wisdom, know this!

From Germany to Colorado, Alaska to Afghanistan, Korea to Kansas, and just across town, transitions are hard.

Emmanuel, God is with us!

From new jobs to new schools, careers on hold or re-starting, change is upon us.

But God, you know the plans you have for us HOPE!

I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the LORD; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope”

Jeremiah 29:11

Grant us the peace, Lord that comes from ONLY spending quiet time with you, reading your Word, and trusting you.

For Military Children

Give our children godly friends to laugh with, grow in faith, and learn to lean on you! Show them how good you are, Lord. You are indeed GOOD! Shower your love and grace upon these children. Give them each one.good.friend. Help our children to make good choices no matter what stages of life they are in. Protect them from distracted driving, strengthen them to say no to drugs, alcohol, or destructive thinking.

Bless the women in uniform and standing beside their service member with a new friend to speak truth and life into them, to encourage them to flourish where they are planted for this season of life in this specific location. You knew we would be here, Lord. This was your plan all along!

Encourage the new recruits in their training. Protect all our service members and their families from the spirit of suicide, discouragement, and depression.

Give Us Your Peace During Military Transition

May each new room in the barracks, apartment, home, or on the ship be filled with your peace and mercy so the faces of these people shine with your glory. Decorate our hearts with your fruit of the spirit and add sprinkles of forgiveness, in the transition whether in the U.S. or overseas.

“God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways”

Galatians 5:22-23

God Be with Us in Military Transition

You, O God, are with us through every transition, the highs and the lows. You hear our cries and you know our struggles. Thank you for Jesus who is our hope, our future, our Savior!

In the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
